Move to a safe location if possible, check for injuries, and call 911 if anyone is hurt or there is an emergency. If the vehicles are creating a hazard, follow the dispatcher's instructions and avoid putting yourself in danger.
Report the accident to law enforcement when required or when the situation calls for it. Exchange information with the other driver, including names, contact details, insurance information, and license plate numbers.
Take photos of the vehicle damage, the accident scene, license plates, and any relevant road conditions. Gather witness contact information if available, and keep copies of any accident reports or related documents.
Notify your insurance provider about the accident and ask about the claims process, coverage, and next steps. Keep your claim number and any instructions from your adjuster handy.
Once everyone is safe and you have started the claims process, it's time to plan your vehicle's repairs. Schedule an appointment with Sunset Collision Center of Sarasota to take the next step toward getting your vehicle back on the road.
